Enterprise Architecture

Overview

If IT isn't your core business, it can be difficult to ensure that your IT systems are responding to your true business needs, that your IT budget is appropriately prioritised, and that you're agile enough to remain focused on your business goals.

SMS can help solve these problems by defining your enterprise's architecture. An SMS Enterprise Architecture (EA) provides an holistic view of your organisation and its assets, describing interdependencies and highlighting alignment with business objectives. By analysing the business, information, applications and technology layers of your organisation, EA allows you to see your organisation as it currently is, and as it should be, enabling:

  • greater leverage, synergy and standardisation within and across agencies
  • minimal duplication, inconsistencies and cost
  • improved decision making
  • alignment of business and IT
  • business transformation and agility

SMS has completed a number of Enterprise Architecture engagements in recent years, as well as many historical engagements that would now be classified as EA (though they weren't at the time). Defence has been an area of particular focus, with SMS Canberra regularly completing Enterprise Architecture assignments.

With a strong EA track record and a wealth of EA experience and expertise across our organisation, SMS can help your ensure organisation's IT is meeting your business needs and facilitating your business goals.
