- An IT performance improvement program - included an IT balance scorecard, role clarity and performance management - for a financial services client
- An IT architectural roadmap - four weeks to develop a roadmap to define and clarify a bank's direction. The roadmap was presented to the Executive Group and CEO and received commendable reviews
- A commercial insurance business process model - started out as a conflict resolution between a software vendor and the project team. The client made a strategic decision to wind up the particular project, but retained SMS to develop a business process model
- A business integration project - managed the integration of a personal insurance organisation into a leading financial services company
- A commercial insurance direct distribution model re-design - defined and implemented a new direct distribution business model for commercial insurance, including the development and implementation of a new remuneration model for the direct distribution sales teams.

James boasts an impressive 25-year business systems track-record. Before joining SMS, he worked across a variety of industries for numerous organisations, in the Government and Banking, Finance and Insurance industries.
His quarter-century of real-world experience is complemented by formal HR qualifications, with a Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Diploma in Training and Development.
